Description
Care & Seasoning

Before your first use

  • Every piece ships pre-seasoned with vegetable oil, but a quick re-season before first use builds an even stronger, more durable surface
  • Rinse with warm water only — no soap needed on the very first wash
  • Dry completely, then rub a thin, even layer of cooking oil over the entire surface
  • Heat on low-medium flame for 5 minutes, let cool, and it's ready to cook

After every use

  • Clean with warm water and a soft brush or sponge — avoid soap and steel wool, which strip the seasoning
  • Dry immediately and thoroughly on low heat to prevent rust — cast iron should never air-dry
  • Apply a light coat of oil while the pan is still slightly warm, then wipe off any excess

Building seasoning over time

  • Seasoning strengthens with regular use — the more you cook, the more naturally non-stick it becomes
  • If food starts sticking or the surface looks dull or patchy, simply repeat the seasoning steps above
  • A little rust on the surface is normal and easily fixed — scrub gently, dry fully, and re-season; it doesn't mean the pan is damaged

Good to know

  • Avoid cooking highly acidic foods (like tomato-heavy curries) for extended periods until seasoning is well-built up
  • Store in a dry place; a thin film of oil before storing prevents moisture buildup

Curries taste different in a good way

There is a noticeable difference in taste when cooking dal and sabzi in the kadai compared to my old aluminium one. Worth the extra weight.

Honest packaging, arrived safe

Well packed, no chipping or cracks on any of the three pieces. Instructions for seasoning were included which helped a lot for a first time cast iron user.

Skillet handle gets hot

Small skillet's handle is also cast iron so it heats up fast. Had to use a cloth to hold it, would have liked a note about this in the listing.

Kadai handles are sturdy

Cooked a full batch of chana masala and the handles never felt unstable even when the kadai was full. Good weight distribution.

Tawa heats evenly across the surface

No hot spots noticed while making parathas back to back. Takes a bit longer to heat up than non-stick but holds the heat much longer too.

Skillet is smaller than I imagined

15cm is genuinely small, more of a single serving pan. Wish I had read the size chart properly, but still useful for one person.

Needs regular oiling

Nobody tells you cast iron needs this much maintenance. Once I understood the seasoning routine it became easy. Cooking results are worth it.

Solid build quality

You can tell this is genuine cast iron just by the weight. No sharp edges, casting looks clean. Happy with the purchase.

Good value for three pieces

Buying these separately would have cost more. Kadai, tawa and skillet all feel like proper quality pieces, not the thin ones you see in local shops.

Exactly what I needed

Switched from non-stick pans that were peeling. This set feels like something my grandmother would have used. Kadai handles curries beautifully.

Dosas came out crispy

Used the tawa for dosa first time today, batter spread evenly and didn't stick after the second attempt. Getting better with each use.

Rusted a little on first wash

Left it wet overnight by mistake and saw light rust the next day. Scrubbed and re-seasoned, no issue now. My fault, not the product's.

Good set, handle a bit rough

The tawa handle edge felt slightly rough out of the box, sanded it down myself. Cooking performance is excellent though.

Mini skillet is a hidden gem

Didn't expect to use the small skillet as much as I do. Perfect for frying one egg or a small tadka.

Perfect combo for daily cooking

Bought this for my mother and she loves it. The kadai is heavy but that's expected from real cast iron. Tawa is great for rotis every morning.

Heavy but that's a good sign

These are seriously heavy compared to my old non-stick set, but that's exactly why I wanted cast iron. Even heating on the tawa is noticeable.

Took time to season but worth it

First few days the kadai needed extra oil but now curries don't stick at all. Mini skillet is my favourite for tempering.

Great gift for newly married daughter

Gifted this combo set as part of her kitchen essentials. She was initially unsure about cast iron but is coming around after a week of use.

Better than my mother's old tawa

My mother has been using a cast iron tawa for 30 years and this one already performs close to that after just two weeks of seasoning.

Three pieces, endless uses

From frying to slow cooking curries to making dosas, this combo covers most of my daily cooking. Only wish there was a lid option for the kadai.
